The Amber Flag Initiative
"Pieta’s Amber Flag initiative celebrates communities that create healthy, supportive, and inclusive environments by promoting mental well-being. Primary schools can offer their students the opportunity to begin their well-being journey, where they can learn the basics of positive mental health."
The wellness of the pupils and staff of Scoil Bhríde is a very important aspect of school life at Scoil Bhríde. From September of 2019 Scoil Bhríde led by Ms Bond took part in the Amber Flag initiative.
The aim of this initiative is to promote positive mental health and wellness by highlighting good practice giving tips to our pupils as well as organising fun activities, events and fun competitions during the year that worked in tandem with our drive to attain the Amber Flag for Scoil Bhríde.
During the year the students engage in a vast variety of mental health and well being activities;
Amber Flag notice board - displaying student's creative art work to promote positive mental health awareness around the school corridors.
Daily brain breaks and meditation
Mental Health Awareness Day and Week - including a fundraiser for Pieta House
