Scoil Bhríde Lacakagh has a very proud tradition of GAA in the school. Our school has a very high level of participation in Cumann na mBunscol  competitions. We have a dedicated team of teachers who volunteer their time to the development of GAA skills in both Iomáint/Camógie and Peil.  We also regularly run lunchtime activities including fun GAA blitzes.

We work closely with the Galway County Board Games Development Officers who visit the school to work with our pupils.  We have a large grass pitch area that has been developed with the movement of the school to the new school campus.

We have currently applied for the GAA 5 Star Centre Initiative which recognises schools that work with the GAA to develop childrens' skills and spark their interest and a love and appreciation of the games as well as being fit and active  through participation.  We hope to have attained this accreditation in  2020.
